Whether you're a pastor or involved in ministry as a leader, you undoubtedly have passion for the people you serve. You feel led to serve a higher purpose by using your gifts to serve others, meet the needs of your community, and reach the masses with the love of Christ.
No matter how passionate you are, though, ministry is not without stressors. Shouldering the emotional needs of those you serve, organizing charity projects, planning sermons, keeping track of prayer or support requests, fulfilling family obligations, and overseeing other players within the church or ministry—it's a lot for any person to take on.
As of March 2022, over 40% of pastors have considered quitting their positions as full-time ministers within the past year.*
The reason? Although there were several factors involved, nearly half of pastors (43%) said one of their primary reasons was isolation and loneliness.
While you're pouring into your congregation, you need others of spiritual maturity pouring back into you. Whether you're just getting started in ministry or have been at it for a while, you should understand that compassion fatigue and pastor burnout are real problems, but they aren't inevitable.
What many Christian leaders are lacking, especially in today's society where faith is constantly under attack, is the spiritual support of like-minded people.
When you sign up for this program, you will be given the opportunity to gain support and networking opportunities with both staff and international ministry leaders who have traveled the road you are on while maintaining their zeal and passion for helping others using their unique gifts. Through the Core Cohort, not only will you gain the perspective and knowledge of experienced mentors, but you'll make meaningful connections with regional congregational leaders to lean into for friendship, fellowship, and support for years.
You'll learn to set ministry goals, and you’ll receive accountability through your network to encourage you to take the next steps needed to meet them. More importantly, you'll develop friendships with other leaders within the body of Christ to avoid the isolation that so often leads to pastor burnout.

We will invite you into new experiences with God, where the Holy Spirit challenges you to be shaped and molded as a mature disciple with rhythms of life that sustain you for a lifetime. We will love you, pray for you, mentor you, and celebrate what God does in your life. Yet it requires a high level of commitment from those who join. Are you ready? Core is offered as a nine-month hybrid program, which includes
2025-2026 Uptick Core Schedule
Coaching: In addition, participants will meet with a coach once a month in October, November, and December, with the option to continue coaching sessions through the remainder of the cohort.
The average cost to participate in a nine-month Uptick cohort is $4000. This covers all program materials, session speaker fees, lodging (when applicable), and meals.
However, thanks to the generous contributions from Uptick supporters and our commitment to making this discipleship program accessible, the participation fee for 2025-2026 is set at $1,000.
We ask each participant to secure at least one sponsor who will furnish a reference, cover the sponsorship fee, and provide encouragement and accountability during the cohort experience.
